4th Annual Project FACT Fundraiser

Join us Sunday, November 15th
from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run
for the 4th Annual Project FACT Fundraiser!

In support of the Inova Ewing Forensic Assessment and Consultation Team (FACT), M.E.G. is hosting a donation drive to benefit child and adult victims of sexual and domestic violence. FACTS’s mission is to address the unique needs of abused children and adults. They offer expert medical evaluation, forensic evidence collection, and provide expert interpretation based on training, experience and medical data.

In an effort to support their mission, we are collecting new clothing and non-clothing items during our Project FACT donation drive. The donated items will be distributed to survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

Oftentimes victims of sexual assault must give all their clothing to the police as evidence during an investigation. As a result, victims will often wear hospital gowns/scrubs when leaving the hospital because replacement clothes are rarely available. This can be distressing in an already traumatic situation. Victims are in need of clothing to wear after they are discharged and able to go home or to a shelter.

Victim advocates and hospitals provide clothing to victims, but they rely solely on donations from the community. Every donation goes directly to these victims, and it truly does make a difference. It is a compassionate way to show support to victims who are in the middle of a traumatic experience. Our hope is that this will help facilitate the recovery process and allow survivors to leave the hospital with dignity and respect.
