K9 Krawl 5K

We are so happy to support the K-9 Krawl 5K! In October of 2006, the inaugural K-9 Krawl 5K was held in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This dog walk was created to raise awareness of the link between domestic violence and pet abuse. Pets are part of the family and oftentimes abusive partners use the bond between victims and their companions to control, manipulate, and isolate them. Many victims have reported that their partners have threatened, hurt, or even harm their pets.

Please join us this Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters (12099 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA).

Activities include:

  • Pet Costume Contest–show us what you got!
  • Face Painting
  • Resource Tables
  • Goodies &Treats
  • Dog Adoption by Fairfax County Animal Shelter
  • Hot Cocoa/Coffee Bar–proceeds go to help child victims of domestic violence

FREE Raffle at the end of the walk!

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The walk will begin at 9:00 a.m.
